Tennisspelare avstängd på livstid för matchfixning och vadslagning

Den ryska tennisspelaren Andrey Kumantsov har stängts av på livstid för matchfixning och vadslagning. Domen börjar gälla omedelbart som en följd av förseelser mellan 2010-2013, detta meddelar Tennis Integrity Unit.

”Livstidsavstängningen börjar gälla omedelbart och innebär att herr Kumantsov inte får delta eller närvara vid turneringar eller tävlingar som organiseras av eller sanktioneras av de styrande organisationerna i proffstennis”, skriver Tennis Integrity Unit i ett uttalande som SR har översatt.

Russian player banned for life for violations of the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Program

Russian tennis player Andrey Kumantsov has been banned from the sport for life after being found guilty of multiple offenses under the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (Program).

Mr Kumantsov, 27, was found guilty of 12 charges under Article D.1 of the Program in a case based on the findings of a Tennis Integrity Unit investigation.

Independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Richard H. McLaren considered the case at a Hearing held in London on 2 June 2014.

The lifetime ban applies with immediate effect and means that Mr Kumantsov is not eligible to participate in or attend any tournament or competition organised or sanctioned by the governing bodies of professional tennis from the date of this statement.

The violations for which he has been disciplined occurred between 2010 and 2013.

Mr Kumantsov was found guilty of the following offenses under Article D.1 of the 2010, 2011 and 2013 editions of the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Program:*

1. Corruption Offenses.

  • No Covered Person shall, directly or indirectly, wager or attempt to wager on the outcome or any other aspect of any Event or any other tennis competition.
  • No Covered Person shall, directly or indirectly, contrive or attempt to contrive the outcome or any other aspect of any Event.
  • No Covered Person shall, directly or indirectly, solicit or facilitate any Player to not use his or her best efforts in any Event.
  • No Covered Person shall, directly or indirectly, offer or provide any money, benefit or Consideration to any other Covered Person with the intention of negatively influencing a Player’s best efforts in any Event.

Consistent with the confidentiality of the Anti-Corruption Hearing process, no further details of the Hearing or Decision will be made public.

The Tennis Integrity Unit is an initiative of the Grand Slam Tournaments, the International Tennis Federation, the ATP World Tour and the WTA, who are jointly committed to a zero tolerance approach to corruption in tennis.
